Introducing FNUniv’s 50th Anniversary Logo

Press Release

As we enter a historic year, First Nations University of Canada is proud to introduce our official 50th Anniversary logo—marking 50 years of Indigenous education, resilience, and leadership.

At FNUniv, education is our buffalo.

This teaching is reflected in the 50th Anniversary logo itself. The buffalo—long a symbol of strength, sustenance, and life—represents the role education continues to play in our communities today. It nourishes our people, strengthens our Nations, and supports the continuation of Indigenous knowledge, languages, and ways of being for future generations.

For 50 years, FNUniv has been a place of transformation and belonging. From our earliest beginnings to where we stand today, the University has remained grounded in culture, guided by Elders, and driven by the success of our students and alumni. This milestone is a reflection of all those who have walked through our doors, carried our teachings forward, and contributed to the growth of this institution.

The 50th Anniversary logo will be featured across university communications, events, and celebrations throughout 2026 and into May 2027, beginning with key moments connected to our founding this May.

This is more than an anniversary—it is a collective celebration of our people, our stories, and our future.

We invite our entire FNUniv community—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and partners—to join us as we honour 50 years and continue walking forward together in a good way.

The 50th Anniversary logo and approved files are available on the FNUniv website:
