Toronto (Tkaronto) May 13, 2026 – The Indigenous Screen Office (ISO) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) announce a $480,000.00 combined investment in three projects selected for funding through the ISO’s 2025-2026 Interactive and Immersive Program.
The projects are:

Project: Waves of Buffalo
Company: Downstream Documentary Productions Inc.

Format: XR Installation
Region: Saskatchewan
Total Allocation: $100,000 (Development)
Part of the ISO’s Story Fund stream, the Interactive and Immersive Program allocates funds for the development and production of high-calibre videogames, AR/VR/XR works, apps, and immersive and/or interactive projects that include audiovisual content. Since 2024, the CMF has been contributing to the program’s budget, increasing access for Indigenous creators in the digital, interactive, and immersive space.

The ISO’s mandate is to foster narrative sovereignty, cultural revitalization, and increased Indigenous control and participation in the screen sector.
