James Smith Cree Nation invites Sask. marshals to police on-reserve – CBC

Chief hopes local peacekeepers, RCMP and marshals work together to reduce drug-related crimes

James Smith Cree Nation is the latest First Nation in Saskatchewan to sign a band council resolution establishing a formal relationship with the provincial marshals service.

“I feel it’s good news for our community because it provides another level of safety,” Chief Kirby Constant said.

“That post-traumatic stress is still there in our community from what happened.”
