KIA announces Office Building’s official Name: Louis Pilakapsi Building

Press Release – Rankin Inlet, Nunavut

Mr. Ningeongan, President of the Kivalliq Inuit Association announced during Nunavut Day Celebrations that Sakku’s office building will now be officially named the LOUIS PILAKAPSI BUILDING.

Mr. Louis Pilakapsi played a pivotal role in the creation of Nunavut as well served as a President of the Kivalliq Inuit Association as well several executive positions throughout his career in Politics.

“It is a privilege and honor to acknowledge Mr. Pilakapsi and rightfully congratulate the people of Kivalliq and his family in this announcement. We thankfully accept, support and are proud to call our office building in his name. As well congratulations to the family of the late Louis Pilakapsi.”
