Press Release
March 13, 2026
The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO), in collaboration with Ducks Unlimited Canada, will host a full-day virtual Wetland Training Workshop on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET.
The workshop is being organized by the MNO’s Environment and Climate Change team and is open to all MNO citizens. This interactive online session offers an opportunity to deepen understanding of wetlands through a two-eyed seeing approach—bringing together Indigenous knowledge and Western science.
What you’ll learn:
Wetlands play a vital role in supporting biodiversity, protecting water quality, storing carbon, and strengthening community resilience. By building knowledge and skills in wetland monitoring and stewardship, citizens can contribute to protecting these important ecosystems for future generations.
All registered participants will receive access to a digital field tools package to support their learning and will earn a certificate of completion at the end of the workshop.
Registration is required and space is limited. Citizens are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.
