An Inuk mother who is facing eviction is going public about what she describes as ongoing difficulties accessing support services through the Georgian Bay Native Women’s Association (GBNWA).
Kelly Ipeelie-Adams says she is now facing food insecurity, financial hardship and eviction while trying to maintain stability for herself and her two-year-old daughter.
Originally from Ottawa, she moved into one of the organization’s housing units last June believing it would provide stability, cultural connection and meaningful support while navigating an ongoing custody matter involving her daughter.
