MEDIA ADVISORY – Minister Anandasangaree to visit the Millbrook First Nation for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

OTTAWA, ON, Sept. 27, 2024  – Please be advised that Chief Bob Gloade of the Millbrook First Nation and the Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, will visit the Nova Scotia Native Women’s Association Resiliency Centre followed by a community walk to the unveiling of the Nora Bernard Community Centre in Millbrook First Nation.

Media participation: Media are invited to arrive at the Nova Scotia Native Women’s Association Resiliency Centre for a visit to the centre. The visit will be immediately followed by a Millbrook community walk in honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to the Nora Bernard Community Centre for the unveiling ceremony to honour the late activist and residential school survivor, Nora Bernard.

Time: The visit will start at 9:15 a.m. (AT) at the Nova Scotia Native Women’s Association Resiliency Centre, 75 Treaty Trail, Millbrook, Nova Scotia. From there, participants will transition to the meeting point for the community walk at 820 Willow Street, Truro, departing for the unveiling ceremony at 9:50 a.m. (AT).
