Vancouver, BC – The Honourable Darren Fisher, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will participate in a number of events, meetings and activities during the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, which runs from February 8 to 16, 2025.
Throughout the week, Minister Fisher will meet with Veterans, stakeholders and partner organizations to recognize both modern and underrepresented Veterans, promote Veteran employment, transition services and more. He will also make a series of announcements aimed at honouring and supporting Veterans.
A delegation of Canadian Indigenous Veterans will join the Minister for many of his engagements throughout the week. The delegation will engage in cultural exchanges and dialogue, the Four Host First Nations, youth and Indigenous Veterans from other participating nations.

Minister Fisher will attend the Opening Ceremony
Minister Fisher will also attend a breakfast with Team Canada, tour HMCS Max Bernays, and meet with military officials from Canada and other participating nations.

Minister Fisher will deliver remarks at the Veteran Employment Symposium hosted by the True Patriot Love Foundation.
Minister Fisher will also cheer on Team Canada at the Wheelchair Basketball competition and visit the CAF Around The World Pavilion and Invictus Games Village.

Minister Fisher will visit the Squamish and Lil’wat Cultural Centre, attend the Skeleton competition, and visit the Invictus Village Whistler, alongside the Indigenous Veterans delegation.
Tuesday, 11 February, 2025

Minister Fisher will make an important announcement to strengthen cooperation and share knowledge to better support veterans in both countries alongside Natalia Kalmykova, Minister of Veterans’ Affairs of Ukraine.

Minister Fisher will visit Veterans Memorial Lodge at Broadmead Care, Veterans House Victoria, and God’s Acre Veterans cemetery.

Minister Fisher will deliver valentines to Veteran residents of George Derby Centre.
Saturday, 15 February, 2025
Vancouver
Minister Fisher will present Commendation Awards to recipients from the Vancouver Area.
Later in the day, Minister Fisher will also attend the Invictus Games Foundation Reception.

Minister Fisher will attend the Celebration Ceremony and Invictus Flag Handover Event (Closing Ceremonies)
