Every Child Matters project in Saint John honours Andrea Simon of Abegweit First Nation in P.E.I.
Ivey Gi was one of several Bayside middle schoolers working Tuesday on a large mosaic of a Sixties Scoop and residential school survivor.
Ivey, who’s in Grade 7, hopes their Project Orange has a lasting impact.
“I want [people] to know the history of Indigenous people … and I want them to know that Indigenous cultures are important and they’re a part of Canada,” Ivey said.
