Register now for the Moved to Action 7-week web course, taking place from September 17 to October 29, 2025, Wednesdays from 1pm-3pm EST!
The Moved to Action online course equips museum professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to implement the principles outlined in the Moved to Action report, aligning their practices with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). Tailored for those working in museums, galleries, and cultural heritage institutions, the course offers a structured, interactive learning experience led by Indigenous experts. Participants will engage with essential concepts such as Indigenous self-determination, repatriation/rematriation, and governance, gaining practical strategies to integrate these principles into policies, programs, and institutional decision-making.
With a focus on practical application, participants explore concepts of repatriation/rematriation, engagement, operations and governance within the context of Indigenous self-determination. Each week includes expert presentations, readings, discussions, and case studies to help participants assess and transform their institutional practices. The course concludes with a policy proposal assignment, supporting concrete steps toward change. Whether just beginning or deepening commitments, Moved to Action fosters reflection, accountability, and meaningful action.
Please note that in addition to the class time, participants are encouraged to allocate approximately 1-2 hours/week for preparation and assignments. This course will be offered in English only.
