The Toronto 2017 North American Indigenous Games Opening Ceremony will be a spectacular event, showcasing the diversity of Indigenous communities from across Ontario and beyond, with Indigenous musical performances from across Turtle Island. Leaders from all levels of government, Indigenous leadership and Honored Guests, will welcome more than 5000 athletes and thousands more spectators, to what will be a colourful and exciting fusion of sport and culture. The show will feature choreography from world-renowned dancer, Santee Smith, in addition to a number of award winning Indigenous musical artists, representing First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities. The ceremony, which will mark the beginning of the eight-day international, multi-sport and cultural event, will also feature a Parade of Athletes, uniting individuals and communities in a celebration of past, present and future. The Toronto 2017 NAIG Host Society, is excited to welcome the athletes, coaches, mission staff and spectators to the City Toronto and to the 2017 Games!
