September 23 to 27: Free Lunch and learn
The National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation is offering free, virtual lunch and learn sessions leading up to the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.
The daily, 50-minute sessions will feature a variety of speakers and give Canadians the opportunity to ask questions and engage in conversation.

September 28 to 30: Manitoba Museum Events
The Manitoba Museum is hosting Every Child Matters events for Orange Shirt Day on September 28 to 30 from 10 am to 4 pm each day.
The event will be held at the Manitoba Museum (190 Rupert Ave, Winnipeg) with free admission.

September 28: Honouring Ceremony at Turtle Lodge
The Turtle Lodge will be hosting an event to honour Anishinaabe artist Henry “Chopper” Guimond and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen for their collaboration on Astronaut Hansen’s Seven Sacred Laws Artemis II Mission Patch.
The event will be held on Saturday September 28, 2024 at 11 am in Sagkeeng First Nation, Manitoba.
All are welcome! Please bring a dish to share for the Potluck Lunch Feast.

September 30 to October 4: Brandon Truth and Reconciliation Week
The Riverbank Discovery Centre in Brandon, Manitoba, is holding various events for the week of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on their grounds.
• September 30, 12:00 PM: Orange Shirt Day Walk
• October 4, All Day: Sisters in Spirit Healing by the River day-long event to celebrate Indigenous traditions and offer a space for healing and reflection.

September 30
Reconciliation Run: Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation
The 2024 Reconciliation Run will take place on September 30.
The run, which is 21.1 kilometres in length, will start at 8 am at the ruins of the original former Birtle Residential School, and conclude on Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation.
Once all participants have made it back to Birdtail Sioux Dakota Nation, community members, volunteers, and participants are invited to a community gathering and feast.

National Truth and Reconciliation Pow Wow
The Sagkeeng Health Centre is holding a pow wow from 12 pm to 8 pm on September 30 on National Truth and Reconciliation Day at the Sagkeeng Anicinabe First Nation pow wow arbour to honour Indian residential school and Indian day school Survivors.
There will be a community feast at 5 pm.

Wa-Say Healing Centre 4th Annual Orange Shirt Day Healing Walk and Pow Wow: Winnipeg
The Orange Shirt Day Healing Walk and Pow Wow will be held on September 30 to remember the children that didn’t make it home and honor the Survivors and their families.
Participants are asked to meet at the Oodena Circle at the Forks for a pipe ceremony at 10 am. The healing walk will begin at 11 am and make its way through downtown Winnipeg to the Canada Life Centre for the Orange Shirt Day Pow Wow.

Ever Child Matters Youth Gathering
The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre is hosting their 4th Annual Every Child Matters Youth Gathering on September 30, 2024. Join a morning of ceremony, teachings, and activities to acknowledge and honour the role youth play in carrying our cultures and stories forward to inspire reconciliACTION.

Where: Gathering Place for Truth & Reconciliation (445 King Street, Winnipeg)
All are welcome to this FREE Event. Lunch is provided, and bus tickets are available for those attending the Healing Walk hosted by Wa-Say.

The Colour Orange Event
Join Anish Corporation and Pineridge Hollow for an evening Honouring Truth & Reconciliation – an Indigenous Art Gallery in The Forest Pineridge Hollow. Featuring local Indigenous artists, culture and community to honour the Residential School Survivors and their families.

WAG: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Event
The Winnipeg Art Gallery will be partnering with Hey Cuzzin! to honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.
Featuring Chāpān Teachings—The Ways of Our Grandparents / Great Grandparents, this event is made up of staff and volunteers from Bear Clan Patrol, Blue Thunderbird Family Care, Centre de Santé, Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute, Jessie Home Inc, Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities, Manitoba Moon Voices, Neecheewam Inc, Pitikwe Skatepark, sākihiwē festival, Winnipeg Art Gallery, and Women’s Health Clinic.
