Naujaat seeking volunteer firefighters

The Department of Community and Government Services’ Nunavut Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking volunteer firefighters at the Naujaat Fire Department.
Volunteer firefighters are highly valued members of a community. Their service at fires, motor vehicle collisions, and other emergencies is essential to keeping Nunavummiut safe.
All volunteer firefighters must attend recruit training before becoming an active member. Recruit training days will be offered in Naujaat during the week of July 22 to 27, 2024, with options for morning, afternoon, or evening sessions.
New and former firefighters are encouraged to apply. To be eligible individuals must:
- Be 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver’s licence.
- Be willing to attend at least two weekly training nights each month.
- Be able to respond to 25 percent of all emergency calls.
