Noganosh returned as Rama First Nation Chief in landslide victory – Barrie Examiner

RAMA FIRST NATION – A lot of familiar faces will return to the council table in Rama, following the First Nation’s election Friday.
Chief Rodney Noganosh was overwhelmingly re-elected to a second term, taking 458 of the 732 votes cast for chief. He defeated two challengers, including former Chief Sharon Stinson Henry, who received 176 votes. Sharon Douglas-Barkley placed third with 92 votes. Seven ballots were rejected.
Six councillors were selected out of 24 candidates, five of which were members of the previous council.
Councillors Ron Douglas, Nemke Quarrington, Ted Williams, Tracey Snache and Ted Snache were successful in their re-election bids. Coun. Gina Genno was not as lucky. Her 171 votes were enough to place her seventh in the balloting.
