NTI President Takes on Vice-President Responsibilities

Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. Board of Directors today announced that effective immediately and until December 8, 2014, NTI President Cathy Towtongie would be taking on the responsibilities of the vice-president position vacated by Jack Anawak in Sept., 2013.

President Towtongie will also serve as the chair of NTI’s Inuit Social and Cultural Development Advisory Committee.

“I look forward to providing continuity and experience on the social and cultural work required in this position,” said Towtongie.

NTI will host an election for both vice-president positions Dec. 8, 2014. Inuit who are 16 years of age and older and are eligible to enroll under the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement are entitled to run as candidates and vote in NTI elections.
