Oneida Nation of the Thames Welcomes New Interim Chief Executive Officer
Oneida Nation of the Thames Settlement (August 20, 2021) – on behalf of the Oneida Nation of the Thames, Elected Chief and Council is honoured and pleased to welcome Mandy Wesley as their new Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mandy is a member of Bearskin Lake First Nation and an Indigenous lawyer with a solid reputation built on integrity, values, and strong ethics. She has dedicated her career to advancing the rights of Indigenous peoples and brings her vast knowledge and experience in governance, leadership, and relationship-building at the local, regional, and national levels.
Mandy is here to help with the process of hiring the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
Elected Chief and Council has the utmost confidence in Ms. Wesley given her recent work with Six Nations of the Grand River Elected Council. She did this work while navigating the early and uncertain days of the pandemic and helped lead a COVID-19 response that was recognized and praised nationally and internationally.
We welcome Ms. Wesley and are looking forward to working together in a good way for the best interest of Oneida Nation and the Elected Chief and Council.
