Applications now open for new round of Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program
TORONTO — The Ontario government is investing $6 million to launch the annual intake for funding applications under the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program (ICCGP). As part of the government’s plan to protect Ontario, the program supports Indigenous communities and organizations building important community infrastructure projects that promote long-term economic growth, job creation and local prosperity.
“Working in tandem with Indigenous communities, our government is supporting critical infrastructure projects that are important to building strong, prosperous communities,” said Minister Greg Rickford, Minister of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation and Minister Responsible for Ring of Fire Economic and Community Partnerships. “Through the Indigenous Community Capital Grants Program, we’re investing directly in Indigenous-led capital projects that create economic opportunities and jobs and reflect our commitment to partnerships that sustain long-term prosperity across the province.”
The ICCGP has previously supported a wide range of capital projects, including the construction and renovation of community facilities, business hubs and cultural spaces. Previously funded projects include a new recreation centre in Webequie First Nation, a new community and business centre in Anishinabe of Wauzhushk Onigum First Nation, and a new multi-use facility in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug.
Ontario’s continued investment through the ICCGP reflects the province’s commitment to advancing economic reconciliation and supporting Indigenous-led development throughout Ontario.
Applications remain open until November 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. (EST), and can be submitted through Transfer Payment Ontario. Interested applicants must register with Transfer Payment Ontario to submit and manage requests for funding opportunities.
