The Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) is celebrating Pride Month (June) with a social media campaign to honour and uplift 2SLGBTQQIA+ Indigenous voices.
The campaign was rooted in education, celebration, and community engagement, using ONWA’s social media platforms to share culturally grounded definitions, promote inclusive resources, and amplify stories of resilience and identity. Key themes included gender diversity, cultural safety, anti-discrimination, and affirming support through ONWA programming such as Gender Journeys and Love Builds the Bundle.
By centering Indigenous perspectives and lived experiences, this campaign fosters dialogue, builds awareness, and reinforces ONWA’s commitment to walking beside 2SLGBTQQIA+ communities not only during Pride Month, but every day of the year.
