Passing of Robert Greenley

Nunavut Tunngavik is saddened to hear of the passing of Robert James Elatiak Greenley, of Cambridge Bay, Nunavut. Bobby was President of the Kitikmeot Inuit Association, member of the NTI board, and a beloved community leader in Cambridge Bay.

He advocated for stronger hunters and trappers’ organizations in Nunavut, especially during his Chairmanship of the Ekaluktutiak Hunters & Trappers Organization. He knew how important it was for Nunavut Inuit to maintain our traditional means of securing sustenance from our land.

NTI extends our condolences to Bobby’s wife Patty Greenley, his children, grandchildren and community. Mr. Greenley’s kindness, strength, and dedication will continue to guide and inspire Inuit. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the community he loved so dearly.
