In November 2014, the Chair and CEO, Peter Watson announced that the NEB would launch a national engagement initiative that would take him across the country to hear from Canadians on how we can improve our approach to pipeline safety and environmental protection. As part of the engagement initiative the Chair also announced that we would host a Pipeline Safety Forum to address specific issues to improve the safety of regulated facilities. The forum will focus on:
The Forum will take place in Calgary on June 2-3, 2015 at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park.
As the final step, the Board will produce a report on both the engagement initiative and forum by early 2016.
