QIA Names Interim Vice President

The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) board of directors have appointed Larry Audlaluk of Grise Fiord as Vice President effective immediately.
Mr. Audlaluk has shown great commitment to the QIA Executive over the past decade and has served on many boards.
QIA’s by-law s. 4.03(g) states that the board shall appoint a member amongst themselves to fill a vacancy when a position becomes vacant within the last remaining year of the term to be served.
George Eckalook resigned for personal reasons in mid-June.
There will be a region-wide election held in December 2013 to fill the Vice Presidency role. Mr. Audlaluk’s appointment is effective until then.
