Iqaluit, Nunavut, April 30, 2025 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is seeking one individual interested in submitting their application to the Aajuraq Conservation Fund Society Board of Directors.
The newly formed Society will be a charitable foundation that financially supports Inuit-led sustainable conservation within the Qikiqtani region, and where applicable, other ocean areas of Canada for the benefit of Inuit and other Canadians.
Board members appointed to the Society will make decisions on disbursement of funding for Inuit-led governance, stewardship and infrastructure development on a regional scale in support of the SINAA agreement and associated conservation outcomes across the Qikiqtani region, as well as making investment decisions on funds held by the Society.
