We are excited to announce a series of Reconciliation Engagement Workshops taking place throughout British Columbia until the end of the year. These workshops are an essential opportunity for band members to engage deeply with critical topics related to Self Determination and Man-Ayaawx Constitution.
Workshop Details:

- Prince Rupert: October 19 at the Lax Kw’alaams Hall
- Lax Kw’alaams: October 19 at the Elders Lodge
- Terrace: October 26 & 27 at the Best Western, 4553 Greig Avenue
- Lax Kw’alaams: November 2 & 3 at Online Meeting
- Burnaby: November 9 & 10 at 4405 Central Boulevard
- Victoria: November 16 & 17 at Chateau Victoria, 740 Burdett Avenue
- Prince George: December 7 & 8 at 770 Brunswick Street

Workshop Focus Areas:
- BC Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA): Explore the implications of this landmark legislation and its impact on Indigenous communities and governance
- Law-Making for Lax Kw’alaams: Delve into the process and principles of law-making as they pertain to Lax Kw’alaams, focusing on how legal frameworks can support community in self-determination
- Draft Da’ax Kw’alaams Man-Ayaawx Constitution: Review and provide feedback on the draft constitution, an important step in shaping the future governance structure of Lax Kw’alaams
- Long-Term Governance Visioning and Planning: Participate in discussions aimed at creating a sustainable and visionary governance plan that reflects the values and aspirations of our community
Honorariums & Prizes:
- Honorariums: Members of Lax Kw’alaams who participate will receive an honorarium as a token of appreciation for your time and input
- Draw Prizes: All participants will be entered into a draw for a chance to win:
