The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association will soon be presenting a series of seven talks under the general theme “Building Cultural Bridges.”
Topics will include History of Canadians of Japanese Ancestry with presenter George Takashima; Religion of Islam and Muslims by presenter Imam Aslam Piprawala; the MŽtis people and its Culture by presenter Roy Pogorzelski; the Jewish Culture in Canada, by presenter Garry Kohn; North American Slavery by presenter Juran Greene; Afro-Caribbean Culture in Lethbridge by presenter Abiola Ogunyemi; and Indigenous Peoples in southern Alberta by presenter Travis Plaited Hair.
The talks will begin on Wednesday and continue each Wednesday until Nov. 1. Each session will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. at the Multicultural Centre at the corner of 6 Avenue and 5 Street South.
