Sâkêwêwak Stage Showcasing Indigenous Artists – MBC Radio

Sâkêwêwak First Nation Artists’ Collective is bringing Indigenous music artists including Drezus, Melody McArthur and Teagan Littlechief and others on stage at this years Cathedral Village Arts Festival in Regina on May 23rd.

“We help built platform either through artist shows, artist talks, member shops where they can show off all their work, or other opportunities like the upcoming Sâkêwêwak stage at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival,” said Bill Stevenson the Executive Director of Sâkêwêwak.

This is the first time they have been able to offer a stage at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival.

“I think it’s a great opportunity and a great partnership between us for this, because it brings in a massive crowd of people and it exposes them to the power and dignity of Indigenous musicians,” said Stevenson.
