New transfers support treaty obligations and create economic opportunities for First Nations communities.
REGINA — The Government of Saskatchewan has approved the transfer of additional Crown mineral rights to the Government of Canada on behalf of Pasqua First Nation, Flying Dust First Nation and Mistawasis Nêhiyawak in support of their Treaty Land Entitlement agreements.
The province has approved the transfer of approximately 333.5 hectares (824.1 acres) of Crown mineral rights for Mistawasis Nêhiyawak. This marks the first transfer of Crown mineral rights under the Mistawasis Nêhiyawak Treaty Land Entitlement Settlement Agreement.
