Summer Solstice has been celebrated by Indigenous Peoples for as long as anyone can remember. The Solstice is when Indigenous communities give thanks for the summer sun and warmth that enables the growth of traditional foods. It is also the official start of pow wow season, when communities recognize their interwoven relationships and celebrate with dancing, singing and gathering to feast.
