Negotiations aimed at ending a week-long blockade of Route 134 in Rexton by shale gas protesters are scheduled to resume Monday in Moncton.
Premier David Alward, three members of his cabinet, and Elsipogtog First Nation Chief Aaron Sock met with about 15 representatives of the protesters for three hours Sunday in a Moncton hotel.
“People had an opportunity to voice their concerns we had an opportunity to discuss what we’re focused on doing as a government,” said Alward after the meeting.
