Press Release
The Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 Chiefs express their deep sorrow and extend their condolences to Her Majesty, the Queen and the Royal Family on the passing of Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh. The Chiefs of Treaty No. 6 Confederacy recognizes the unique role the Prince played as husband and consort of Queen Elizabeth for more than seven decades. The Chiefs recognize his selfless service during the Second World War and his charitable work in the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world since his marriage to Her Majesty the Queen in 1947.
As allies joined together by our nation-to-nation relationship with the Crown with our Peace and Friendship Treaty made with Queen Victoria, we are joined in collective grief of The Queen’s great loss. Our historical relationship with the Crown since the Royal Proclamation of 1763, the Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 Chiefs are with Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal Family and the British people and the Commonwealth at the sad passing of Prince Philip. His work will be a long-standing testimony to service and dedication.
