Postsecondary educational attainment and labour market outcomes of Indigenous peoples, 2021
Indigenous people have made important gains in higher education from 2016 to 2021, with the share of Indigenous people holding a bachelor’s degree or higher increasing by 1.9 percentage points over that period. Increases were seen across all Indigenous groups, namely First Nations people, Métis and Inuit.
Court outcomes in cases of gender-related homicide of women and girls in Canada
Nearly 6 in 10 persons accused of committing a gender-related homicide (58%) were found guilty of at least one charge in cases completed from 2009/2010 to 2020/2021.

Settled areas are a type of intensively used ecosystem that represent the places where people live and work. While they make up a small percentage of the total land area in Canada, the expansion of settled areas onto adjacent landscapes greatly affects the surrounding environment.
Surveying and mapping services, 2022
Operating revenue for the surveying and mapping services industries increased 9.8% to $2.8 billion in 2022. Surveying and mapping services have strong ties to capital investments. Investment in building construction, for all types (industrial, commercial and institutional), strongly increased in 2022. Furthermore, the growth in capital expenditures in oil and gas extraction more than doubled to 43.9% in 2022, bolstering demand for surveying and mapping services at a time when pressures from the residential housing sector were levelling off. Housing starts eased from 271,198 units in 2021 to 261,849 units in 2022.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, September 2023
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.1 billion cigarettes in September 2023, up 11.4% from August 2023. Cigarette production was 14.6% lower compared with September 2022.

Wholesale trade: Early indicator, September 2023
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for September. The advance results for September indicate that wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, other hydrocarbons and oilseed and grain) were unchanged. Gains in the food, beverage and tobacco products subsector were offset by lower sales in the machinery, equipment and supplies subsector.
