The Downie Wenjack Fund would like to thank everyone who joined us last night for the premiere of the Secret Path in Concert on CBC, and everyone who has continued to share their memories of Gord throughout the weekend. If you missed the broadcast.

We have been especially moved by those from coast to coast to coast who have shared the commitments they are making to reconciliation in memory of Chanie and Gord. Across the country, individuals, families, and communities are taking Gord’s call to “Do Something” to heart. From organizing fundraisers, to creating art, to bringing The Secret Path into classrooms, it has been inspiring to see Gord’s legacy transformed into real action.

We would also like to thank everyone who has supported and contributed to The Downie Wenjack Fund throughout our first year. As we look ahead to our next year as an organization (and our next 150 years as a nation), we know there is so much more work to be done. That is why your continued support is so important. To truly move Canada closer to reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, we must all take these steps together.
