The Cree School Board and the Quebec Aboriginal Science and Engineering Association (QASEA) are pleased to invite you to the Quebec Aboriginal Science Fair (QASF) that will be held in Mistissini, April 5 and 6, 2016. The theme of the science fair is Aboriginal Footprints: The Path to Future Innovations.
As per the past years, you are invited to hold science fairs in your schools and send your winners to the 2016 QASF. There will be cash prizes and trophies for the three winning teams of the five categories, and awards of excellence in communication and for the best projects related to environment, cultural heritage and health. The Université du Québec will offer a visit of one of their campus to winners of the best project in secondary 4 or 5 and 1500$ of scientific material to a school whose students show great potential. A maximum of four grand winners from high schools will have the honour of representing the region “Aboriginal Québec Autochtone” at the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF) that will be held in Montréal from May 15 to 20.
Please note that the cardboard panel for the projects will be available in Mistissini and its size is indicated here. The information on the CWSF is of interest only to high school students and teachers.
Accommodations for students and chaperons will be with families in Mistissini. Breakfast, lunch, supper and healthy snacks will be provided for students and chaperones on April 5 and 6. Travel financial support may be provided, please contact QASEA at 819-684-1889.
