When the executive director of the proposed Georgian Bay Geopark wrapped up his presentation on the current state of the project at a recent meeting of the Town of Penetanguishene’s council, Coun. Suzanne Marchand praised the organization’s efforts to build relationships with local First Nations and Indigenous communities.

She noted it was a marked change from what she heard when the Geopark proposal was first announced a few years ago.

“Thank you very much for the presentation and appreciate you coming back,” Marchand said to Tony Pigott, the park’s executive director, when he finished his presentation during the May 13 council meeting.
