Contest winner challenges Northerners to nominate most deserving community members

What would you do with 40 free airline tickets? One Iqaluit woman is giving them all away and challenging Northerners to nominate their most deserving community members.
First Air, which is owned by Makivik Corporation, launched the contest in November for 40 free flights between Iqaluit, Kuujjuaq and Montreal, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement — the first major land claims agreement in Northern Canada.
“I kinda thought to myself, ‘Do I have 40 friends?'” recalled Sarah Maniapik, of when she first spotted the contest.
