Chief Superintendent Scott Sheppard has been named commanding officer of Yukon’s RCMP (“M” Division) and has assumed the leadership of Yukon’s police force.
Chief Superintendent Sheppard comes to Yukon having spent 27 years with the RCMP, over which he has gained wide-ranging experience in programs such as frontline community policing in First Nations communities, covert and undercover operations, critical incidents, relocation services and officer development and resourcing programs.
Throughout his career, Chief Superintendent Sheppard has worked in a variety of locations, including busy municipal detachments in British Columbia’s lower mainland as well as rural and First Nations communities in British Columbia and Manitoba.
