Event Date: 2015-09-17 15:00 pm | shíshálh Nation Chief and Council invite you to witness the unveiling ceremony for the Residential School Memorial Monument. The commemorative monument will be dedicated to the students and families who attended the Sechelt Indian Residential School. The monument is a stone carving of a grandmother holding the hands of her child. The 80 million year old marble stone was excavated from Texada Island in the territory of the shíshálh Nation.
The monument will be located on the original site of the old Residential School.

Burning for the Residential School loves ones who have passed. Community members can bring clothes and or blankets for the burning.
