First Nation Reunites with Wasaya Airways

October 21, 2015 – Thunder Bay, ON – Wasaya Airways LP today announced reunification with its ownership community Muskrat Dam First Nation.

“Muskrat Dam believes in strengthening its relations with the surrounding First Nations and third parties. Muskrat Dam wants to strengthen its linkage to the economy by rejoining Wasaya,” said Muskrat Dam First Nation Chief Stan Beardy.

Chairman of Wasaya’s Board of Directors, Chief Bart Meekis stated, “We respect the sovereignty of Muskrat Dam First Nation and the choices of their people. We welcome our First Nation brothers and sisters from Muskrat Dam back to the Wasaya family with open arms. Muskrat Dam First Nation will return to its ownership position in Wasaya as though they had never left.” Chairman Meekis continued to outline Wasaya’s strategic objectives by saying, “the Board of Directors has given clear direction to our CEO. Be safe; be profitable; and, operate the business in a manner consistent with promoting all our First Nation’s values and aspirations.
