Press Release
TSUUT’INA, AB, Oct. 29, 2015 – First Nations issues were largely under-represented in the last federal election. However, the Liberal election platform did make significant new commitments to First Nations around missing and murdered aboriginal women, education funding, and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Now, Chiefs of Treaties 1-11 will gather at Tsuut’ina to determine how to move forward to turn promises into action.
The full-day gathering will commence with a grand entrance ceremony at 9am. Various Chiefs can be approached for comment, and Tsuut’ina’s Kevin Littlelight will be available to provide an overall perspective on the event.
