Nunavut-wide 45 sec
Between November 2013 and July 2014, the Department of Justice visited Nunavut’s 25 communities, and held public engagement meetings on crime prevention. Hundreds of Nunavummiut shared their thoughts, including youth, Elders, municipal leaders, concerned citizens, law enforcement and community justice committees.
Information gathered at these meetings is available in a report, which will be used to draft the Nunavut Crime Prevention Strategy. This report illustrates ways in which community members can come together and make Nunavut a safer and more welcoming place for everyone.
To get a copy of the report, please contact your local community justice outreach worker, or visit our website: http://www.gov.nu.ca/sites/default/files/public_engagement_report_for_th….
The Department of Justice thanks all Nunavummiut who participated in these meetings.
