I received an email yesterday about a Rotary Club initiative to support Chief Rosemary McKay of Bearskin Lake. Her community has suffered 42 deaths in the last year, and they are currently reeling from the suicide death of a 10-year-old girl in December and don’t have the funds to give her a proper burial. The Rotary is raising funds to help provide emergency mental health support and programming dollars to the community overcome by grief, while there is a “Go Fund Me” site raising money for the cost of the burial.
Frankly, the urgency tied to change is staring at us in the face.
