Sask. leaders, experts call for action on First Nations suicide rate- CBC

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations is calling on the federal and provincial governments to address high suicide rates in Canada’s First Nation communities.

FSIN vice chief Bob Merasty met with media to discuss the number of suicide attempts in Attawapiskat, Ont. Chief and council there declared a state of emergency after 11 people attempted to take their own lives Saturday night.
