IPAA is hiring an Operations Coordinator starting January 3, 2016. The position is 15 hours per week, wage is $18 – 22/hr depending on experience. IPAA provides wellness reimbursement (in lieu of benefits), professional development and vacation time. Interviews will take place November 21 – 23 with an offer by early December.

Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance (IPAA) became a federally incorporated national arts service organization in 2005. The Indigenous performance community has been mobilizing around an advocacy body for decades such as when, in the 90’s, leaders circled up on Métis Elder Maria Campbell’s land.

About you
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Operations Coordinator is one of the caretakers of the story of the Alliance. This arts leader will ensure our operations are in good standing so that we remain accountable to our Community of Artists [members].
The position will appeal to arts workers who thrive in a collaborative environment where individual initiative and critical contributions are valued. This person will be experienced in Excel, and will introduce systems and apps that streamline productivity. They will work efficiently with a modest operational budget that keeps the focus of our resources on claiming space for all Indigenous performing artists.
We are looking for administrative leaders with a minimum 2 years experience from any sector. Indigenous candidates will be strongly considered.
About the job
The Operations Coordinator [OC] will ensure the smooth running of IPAA by supporting the Executive Director, service contractor workers and the Grand Council [Board] representatives in day-to-day administration and program delivery. The OC will manage databases, liaise with the bookkeeper, manage all vendor relationships and office equipment, and ensure a smooth internal flow of information, including the Alliance operations critical path.
