Province Helping People in Ontario Get Active and Stay Healthy
December 12, 2016
Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport
Ontario is now accepting applications for the Ontario Sport and Recreation Communities Fund, which supports new projects that will help people in communities across Ontario lead healthier lives.
This grant program supports local, regional and provincial organizations that offer programs and services to keep Ontarians active in sport, recreation and physical activity. Applications are now being accepted for 2017-18 funding, and the deadline to apply is 5:00 p.m. on February 1.
The last round of funding supported 129 projects, which are expected to help more than 220,000 participants. Projects included a learn-to curl program, sport and recreation camps for 500 indigenous youth across Ontario and a learn-to-dive program for 2,000 children ages 6-12.
Helping people in communities across Ontario to lead healthy, active lives is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy and help people in their everyday lives.
