SALARY RANGE: $25.00 per hour (32 hours a week)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This is subsidized and supported by the Canada Summer Jobs Program and is directed towards youth and students between the ages of 18-30.
The Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) was founded in 1995 and provides a national voice for Aboriginal sport, physical activity, and recreation, reflecting the combined interests of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
The ASC has an exciting opportunity for two capable Program Assistants to contribute to the development and support of Indigenous sport in Canada. As a key team member, you will report directly to the Programs and Events Manager (or designate) and together be responsible for development and implementation of current and new programming at the ASC.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with the project or program manager and team.
• Organize and monitor schedules, book meetings.
• Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants, stakeholders and ASC members.
• Complete any necessary administrative tasks, such as research and email.
• Create and implement specific strategies for effective execution of projects.
• Maintain contacts and communication with team and stakeholders.
• Ensure project/program timelines specification and guidelines are adhered to while upholding quality of work.
• Maintain records and project documentation, organize, provide to team or manager as requested.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports to project manager; present to team.
• May supervise tasks assigned to specialized project teams as instructed by the Program Manager (or designate).
• May be assigned to different projects, sometimes concurrently.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Proven knowledge and understanding of computer software such as Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Adobe, Zoom, etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Strong relationship management skills: ability to positively interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to travel occasionally within Canada.
• Personable, positive and a team player with a strong work ethic.
• Pragmatic approach to problem solving and ability to use initiative where appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience in sport administration or program administration.
• Experience in Indigenous sport or community development sector an asset.
• Bilingual in English, French or Indigenous language an asset.
