Economic Development – Policy Analyst, Supply Chain and Procurement
The Chiefs of Ontario is inviting applications for the position of Policy Analyst: Supply Chain and Procurement. The Analyst will be a key member of the Economic Development Sector. Our ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, enjoy working as a team and have the ability to lead complex projects.
LOCATION: Toronto, Ontario
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement work plans related to First Nations supply chain mapping and procurement.
- Conduct in-depth research, data collection, analysis of policies and programs relating to supply chain mapping and procurement.
- Work with the consultant to develop, design, and implement a supply chain map and portal that will provide information on the current First Nations businesses and how they are functioning.
- Support program development by assisting in planning, research, and coordination of projects and activities.
- Prepare position and research papers, briefing notes, presentations, and policy documents on required
- Participate in various meetings and engagements with representatives of First Nations, provincial, federal governments, and other
- Develop and maintain partnerships with government ministries, First Nation communities, and organizations to ensure effective dialogue and collaboration between
- Travel will be required from time to time.
- Identification of methods to increase opportunities for supply chain optimization and procurement contracts for First Nations communities.
- Attend administrative and coordination work related to the job.
RELEVANT SKILLS:
- Relevant post-secondary education equivalent to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, preferably in Business Management, economics, finance, or other related fields.
- Knowledge of First Nations culture, history, values, and expectations.
- Experience and knowledge of risk management techniques, supply chain issues, procurement, and a passion for advocating for First Nations communities in Ontario.
- Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal legislation, policies, and programs.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills are required.
- Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills.
- Experience leading discussion groups and providing presentations to large forums.
- Excellent organizational & information management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software.
- Self-directed, motivated, and able to work independently.
- Adaptable and flexible to meet needs as they are determined.
DURATION: April 2023 – March 31st, 2025 with the possibility of extension based on funding availability.
