April 27, 2026
The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) continued its work to strengthen supports for Métis families and youth through a series of meetings and site visits in Thunder Bay.
MNO President Margaret Froh, CEO Dale LeClair, Provincial Secretary Mitch Case, Provincial Secretary Kathleen Anderson, and Director of Education and Training Bryanna Scott-Kay met with community partners to discuss ongoing developments in child care facilities in Penetanguishene and Thunder Bay, as well as future planning for the Powley Institute. These discussions are part of broader efforts to expand access to culturally grounded services for Métis citizens across the province.
While in Thunder Bay, meetings also focused on the new youth transition home—an important community partnership supporting all Indigenous youth as they move toward independence.
Time spent on the ground with partners reinforces the MNO’s commitment to ensuring programs and services reflect the needs and priorities of Métis families and youth across Ontario.
