LETTER: Cultural appropriation in the Vernon Tourism marketing – Vernon Morning Star

Scrolling through the Vernon tourism website under arts and culture, people are met with imagery of an Indigenous person who is wearing a traditional headdress.
At first, this image caught me off guard, as there was no correlation with the contexts that were being shown as art.
However, Vernon exists on the unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) people, and their culture and traditions are still very relevant to date.
