TIMMINS – A youth leader is ready to lending her voice to an international group.

Katherine Jeremiah-Génier is one of three Canadian youth delegates heading to New York City next month for the United Nations conference on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It’s being held June 9-11.

In the last few years, the 25-year-old from Missanabie Cree First Nationa nd North Caribou Lake First Nation has been diagnosed with ADHD and autism.

“I’ve lived on reserve and also in Timmins and that has shaped my understanding of systems and access to support services in different environments for people who have similar struggles that I have,” said Jeremiah-Génier in a news release.
