Iqaluit, Nunavut – June 2, 2026 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) Board of Directors meeting begins tomorrow in Iqaluit and will be open to the public from June 3-5, 2026, at the Aqsarniit Hotel and Conference Centre.

The Board will discuss a range of issues affecting Inuit in the Qikiqtani region, including a draft Land Management Policy, infrastructure funding matters, revisions to the 2026-2027 budget, and a review of the Regional Programs budget. Members will consider opportunities to increase scholarship funding for students across the Qikiqtani region. Strengthening support for education remains a priority for QIA as it works to help Inuit students pursue post-secondary studies, training, and career development opportunities.
Members will also receive updates from Qikiqtaaluk Corporation and Kakivak Association, as well as presentations from QIA’s Wealth Manager and Investment Advisory Committee. The Board will consider matters related to fisheries, the Hunters Support Grant, and appointments to various boards, committees, and organizations.
