Media Advisory — Governor General to attend farewell reception hosted by the speakers of the Senate and House of Commons

OTTAWA, Ontario—Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Whit Fraser will attend a reception hosted by the Honourable Raymonde Gagné, Speaker of the Senate, and the Honourable Francis Scarpaleggia, Speaker of the House of Commons, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The event will give parliamentarians the opportunity to bid farewell to Their Excellencies and to thank Her Excellency for her service over the last five years.

Date: June 3, 2026.
Time: 12:00 p.m.
Location: Sir John A. Macdonald Building, 144 Wellington Street
